Dr. Kathryn Winkler

Dr. Kathryn (Katie) Winkler is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery (oculofacial surgery). She cares for patients with functional and cosmetic concerns of the eyelids, tear drainage system, and orbit. Dr. Winkler offers comprehensive options ranging from eyelid surgery and brow lifting to evaluation and treatment of eyelid lesions, blocked tear ducts, thyroid eye disease, and orbital conditions, with an emphasis on restoring comfort and achieving natural-looking results.

Dr. Winkler earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit. She then completed a two-year ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Kresge. She is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Rush University College of Medicine and has contributed through scientific publications and national presentations. She also has a long-standing interest in international medicine and has participated in ophthalmic and oculoplastic care missions abroad.
