About Me
Dr. Jyotsom Ganatra is an ophthalmologist with specialized expertise in corneal diseases, refractive surgery, and anterior segment surgery. He completed his medical education and residency in ophthalmology at UCSF, followed by a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.
Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Ganatra gained valuable experience in private practice in New Hampshire and worked abroad. He spent six months at a charitable hospital in rural India teaching corneal transplantation surgery and helping establish their transplant program. He also pursued advanced training in cornea and refractive surgery at the Rothschild Foundation in Paris. Dr. Ganatra remains active in academic ophthalmology as a clinical instructor and contributor to peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Ganatra is fluent in English, Spanish, Hindi, Gujarati, and French, allowing him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population. He provides both medical and surgical treatments, including LASIK, PRK, and other refractive procedures.
