Dr. Joseph Martel is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in retinal and vitreous diseases, providing comprehensive eye care for conditions affecting the back of the eye. He sees patients across the age spectrum, including adolescents, adults, and older adults, and offers both in-person and video visits for convenient access to care.
Dr. Martel practices at the UPMC Vision Institute, where he manages a wide range of retinal disorders such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachments, and macular holes. His clinical approach emphasizes patient education and shared decision-making, ensuring that individuals understand their condition and treatment options.
