Meet Dr. Joseph L Sokol

Dr. Joseph Sokol is a fellowship-trained glaucoma sub-specialist and eye surgeon who provides comprehensive eye care at Connecticut Eye Specialists in Shelton. He is board certified in ophthalmology and holds leadership roles as Chief of Ophthalmology and President of the Medical Executive Committee at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut. Dr. Sokol also serves on the voluntary faculty of the Yale Eye Center and is an elected member of the American Glaucoma Society.

Dr. Sokol has a special interest in glaucoma management and surgery, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), as well as complex cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lens implants such as premium and presbyopia-correcting lenses. He also offers care for dislocated intraocular lenses. Dr. Sokol’s practice emphasizes a combination of the latest technology with personalized attention. He welcomes new patients for general ophthalmology consultations and specialized glaucoma care.
