Dr. Joseph Alsberge

Dr. Joseph Brooks Alsberge is a vitreoretinal surgeon who cares for adults with medical and surgical conditions of the retina and vitreous. He treats age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal vascular disorders, retinal detachment, macular holes, and epiretinal membranes. In clinic, he emphasizes education and clear communication so patients understand their diagnosis and options, and he partners with them to choose therapies that fit their goals and lifestyle. In the operating room, he performs advanced retinal procedures and coordinates seamless follow-up to support recovery and long-term vision health. Dr. Alsberge completed ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at West Coast Retina/California Pacific Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and completed an internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center.
