About Me
Dr. John Hardaway is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Kitsap Eye Physicians, serving patients in Bremerton and Port Orchard, Washington. He grew up in Maple Valley, Washington, and graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy. He earned his medical degree from the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University, completed an internal medicine internship at the National Naval Medical Center, and finished ophthalmology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Dr. Hardaway served over 30 years in the Navy, attaining the rank of Captain and leading ophthalmology clinics at several naval hospitals, as well as serving as Force Surgeon for Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa. After retiring from the Navy, he joined Kitsap Eye Physicians to continue serving the Kitsap community.
Dr. Hardaway specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, providing medical and surgical eye care with an emphasis on patient- and family-centered treatment. He performs state-of-the-art cataract surgery and treats a wide range of eye conditions, including glaucoma, diabetic eye diseases, dry eye, macular degeneration, and vitreoretinal disorders. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
