Dr. John Olkowski

Dr. John Olkowski is the founder and chief surgeon of EyeSight Hawaii, bringing over three decades of specialized eye care to the islands. As a fellowship-trained corneal surgery specialist, he has been practicing in Hawaii since 1990 and is recognized as one of the state's earliest LASIK surgeons, having performed his first procedure in 1997. With thousands of laser vision correction surgeries to his credit, Dr. Olkowski is highly experienced in a range of procedures including LASIK, PRK, VisianICL, cataract surgery, and dry eye treatment.

His deep expertise in corneal surgery, honed through a fellowship at Tufts-New England Medical Center and his role as Chief of the Cornea Service at the University of Hawaii, allows him to provide advanced care for complex refractive and corneal conditions. Dr. Olkowski's longitudinal experience with patients over many years informs his careful approach to patient selection and treatment planning, aiming for optimal long-term outcomes. He founded EyeSight Hawaii in 1999, ensuring that his patients have direct, local access to their surgeon for all follow-up care.
