Dr. John Alexander Fraser is an Associate Professor at Western University with a primary appointment in the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences and a cross-appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology. He is a neurologist and neuro-ophthalmologist who specializes in conditions affecting the visual system and the nervous system.
Dr. Fraser's clinical focus includes neuro-ophthalmology, with expertise in treating conditions such as blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, eye movement disorders, optic nerve disorders, and pupil and eyelid dysfunction. His research involves advanced imaging techniques and conditions like optic disc drusen, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, optic neuritis, and pituitary tumor-related vision loss. He is dedicated to patient care, research, and the education of medical students and residents.
