Dr. Joel Pelavin

Dr. Joel L. Pelavin is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with over 30 years of experience. He completed his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University, earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University. Throughout his career, he has instructed medical students and residents and was recognized as Teacher of the Year by the residents of Beaumont Hospital.

Dr. Pelavin's practice focuses on sutureless small incision cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation. He also has expertise in laser eye surgery and in treating glaucoma and macular degeneration. His research and presentations have covered topics including glaucoma, intraocular surgery, and ocular injuries.
