Dr. Joel Brown

Dr. Joel D. Brown is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, practicing comprehensive ophthalmology with a subspecialty focus on cataract and refractive surgery, including LASIK. He provides a full range of medical and surgical eye care to patients in the Pittsburgh area.

Dr. Brown draws on extensive experience from his research years, during which he contributed to studies on the gancyclovir implant for CMV retinitis and presented at national meetings such as ARVO and CLAO. In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as a Clinical Instructor at UPMC Eye and Ear Hospital and has been a surgical tutor for ophthalmology residents at the Veterans Administration Hospital, reflecting a commitment to advancing the field through education.
