About Me
Dr. Joaquin Tosi is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist practicing at Lipman Tosi Retina Consultants in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a third-generation ophthalmologist, he brings a deep family legacy in eye care to his practice, focusing on the diagnosis and management of complex retinal and vitreous diseases.
His impressive training includes completing a residency in ophthalmology and a retina fellowship at the Instituto de la Vision, University of Buenos Aires, followed by a post-doctoral research fellowship in retinal degenerations and electrophysiology at Columbia University. Dr. Tosi further honed his skills through a residency and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute, Wayne State University. He specializes in treating conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration, and ocular inflammation.
Dr. Tosi has served as the Director of the Retina Service and Visual Electrophysiology Laboratory at the University of New Mexico, where he established the state's first Retina Dystrophy clinic. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists, underscoring his dedication to maintaining the highest standards of retinal care for his patients.
