Meet Dr. Jesus Alberto Martinez

Dr. J. Alberto Martinez is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea and refractive surgeon who serves as the founder of Visionary Eye Doctors. He treats patients at his Rockville office as well as monthly at a Washington, DC, location. Dr. Martinez specializes in advanced cataract surgery, corneal transplants, pterygium surgery, and corneal cross-linking, and he has extensive experience with LASIK and laser-assisted cataract surgery using femtosecond laser technology.

With over 20 years in practice and more than 30,000 procedures performed, Dr. Martinez has built a reputation for achieving excellent outcomes, particularly in pterygium surgery where his recurrence rate is less than 1%. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Georgetown University and stays active in research. Dr. Martinez is fluent in Spanish, and his practice offers telehealth visits for patient convenience.
