Dr. Jeremy Hwang

Dr. Jeremy C. Hwang is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma and cataracts. He offers comprehensive evaluations, advanced laser and surgical treatments for glaucoma, and cataract surgery tailored to each patient’s lifestyle and visual needs. Dr. Hwang believes in collaborative, evidence-based care—taking time to explain findings, review options, and build a plan that balances safety, vision quality, and rapid recovery. Dr. Hwang graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in chemistry and physics, then completed his MD and PhD at Columbia University. He trained in ophthalmology at the Doheny Eye Institute of the University of Southern California and pursued glaucoma fellowship training at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University, earning recognition including a Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship. His clinical interests span medical, laser, and surgical glaucoma care as well as modern cataract surgery, and he enjoys caring for patients across Connecticut.
