Dr. Jeffrey Maehara

Dr. Jeffrey Maehara is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained Anterior Segment-Glaucoma Specialist. He was raised in Honolulu and attended Tulane Medical School, where he studied under top LASIK and refractive surgeons. His training provides extensive experience with complex and advanced glaucoma management, LASIK, cataract and corneal transplants, and other refractive procedures.

Dr. Maehara focuses on leading the way with new technology in ophthalmology. He was the first in Hawaii to implant the AcrySof ReStor premium lens, the first to routinely offer AquaLase technology, and the first to implant the astigmatism-correcting Acrysof Toric cataract lens. He also performed the first non-penetrating deep sclerectomy with Aquaflow implant and the first Canaloplasty in Hawaii.

Beyond ophthalmology, Dr. Maehara practices preventive and integrative medicine as a fellowship-trained anti-aging regenerative medicine physician. He is the owner and medical director of Hawaii Wellness MD, LLC, and the Medical Director of Next Health Maui, providing regenerative medicine through advanced IV therapies.
