Dr. Jay Sheth

Dr. Jay Sheth is currently the lead Vitreoretinal surgeon at Shantilal Shanghvi Eye Institute. Before SSEI, he served as Head of Vitreoretinal Services at Surya Eye Institute, Mumbai, and as a Research Lead at Giridhar Eye Institute, Cochin. With considerable expertise in ophthalmology, he is an established vitreoretinal surgeon in India. He is highly trained and skilled in performing advanced vitreoretinal surgeries. His primary focus revolves around the surgical management of retinal detachments, macular holes, and complex diabetic vitrectomies. Additionally, he has a particular interest and expertise in the management of diabetic retinopathy and macular disorders, including performing lasers and intravitreal injections.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Sheth is passionate about academics and has over 50 scientific publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He serves as a peer reviewer in numerous indexed journals and has presented several papers, posters, and video presentations at diverse national and international conferences, winning multiple gold medals at the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) annual conferences. He also devotes time to teaching students and fellows at the Institute and is committed to inspiring and training future leaders. Besides Ophthalmology, he is a keen traveller and enjoys music and sports.
