About Me
Dr. Jay N. Patel is a neuro-ophthalmologist at Barrow Neurological Institute and an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology. He evaluates and treats vision problems that arise from neurologic disease and injury, combining detailed ocular examination with neuroimaging and coordinated specialty care. Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Phoenix, completed neurology residency at Barrow Neurological Institute, and pursued a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is board certified in neurology and is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society. His interests include ischemic optic neuropathy and improving recognition of neuro-ophthalmic disorders with imaging.
