About Me
Dr. Janet Leath Alexander is a pediatric ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care for infants, children, and adolescents. She has particular expertise in treating strabismus (eye misalignment), tear duct obstruction (nasolacrimal obstruction), pediatric cataracts, glaucoma, eyelid and orbital conditions, and retinal disorders. Dr. Alexander was recognized as a "Top Doctor" in Pediatric Ophthalmology by Baltimore magazine in 2020.
Dr. Alexander earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and then completed a surgical internship at Northwestern University, an ophthalmology residency at George Washington University, and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Children’s National Medical Center. She is dedicated to serving the Baltimore community and has a special interest in medical education, outreach to Spanish-speaking families, and international public health. Her research focuses on pediatric uveitis, congenital cataracts, and glaucoma.
