About Me
Bo Wang, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor of ophthalmology with the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Medicine. He specializes in pediatric ophthalmology with particular interest in pediatric glaucoma and cataract, strabismus, and retinopathy of prematurity. Dr. Wang earned his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Duke Eye Center.
Dr. Wang blends compassionate, child-friendly care with evidence-based decision-making and advanced imaging. His research leverages optical coherence tomography to study outflow pathway changes that contribute to pediatric glaucoma, with the goal of improving diagnosis and therapy. He sees patients at Wilmer’s East Baltimore and Green Spring Station locations and enjoys working closely with families to craft care plans that support both vision and development.
