Dr. Jamie Alexander

Dr. Shazia F. Ali is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in both pediatric ophthalmology/strabismus and cornea/external disease. She treats children and adults and has a particular interest in complex front-of-the-eye conditions, offering options that include cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, secondary lens implantation, and procedures to address strabismus, iris defects, and trauma. She speaks English, Hindi, Spanish, and Urdu and enjoys partnering with families to tailor care plans around each patient’s vision needs. Dr. Ali earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine, where she also completed ophthalmology residency and a pediatric ophthalmology/strabismus fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital. She then completed a second fellowship in cornea and external disease at the Cizik Eye Center, UTHealth Houston. Her scholarly work spans pediatric cornea, cataract outcomes, and myopia management, and she has received research honors during training. Dr. Ali sees patients at multiple Kelsey-Seybold locations and welcomes new patients seeking comprehensive corneal and pediatric eye care.

Dr. Karima S. Khimani is a board-certified ophthalmologist and corneal specialist who returned home to San Antonio to provide advanced medical and surgical eye care. Her expertise includes premium cataract surgery, refractive procedures such as LASIK, PRK, and ICL, and the full spectrum of corneal transplantation—DMEK, DSAEK, PKP, and DALK—as well as pterygium removal and Boston Keratoprosthesis. In addition to surgery, Dr. Khimani manages dry eye disease, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, ocular surface injuries, and corneal dystrophies. She completed a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center after residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, with earlier training at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Guadalupe Torres is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Berkeley Eye Center serving patients across Southeast Houston. He specializes in complex anterior segment and corneal surgery, including advanced keratoplasty techniques and challenging lens and iris repair. Dr. Torres is trained in DMEK and DSAEK endothelial transplants, full-thickness PKP, and lamellar DALK procedures, and he handles difficult anterior segment problems such as secondary IOL exchange and iris suturing. A Houston-area native, he completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, an internal medicine internship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas-Houston, and a cornea and external diseases fellowship at the University of Iowa, a world-renowned eye hospital.
