About Me
Dr. James O'Neil is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist who treats a broad spectrum of pediatric eye disorders, with a caseload of more than 10,000 surgeries accumulated over nearly 30 years of practice. He is recognized as an early adopter of telemedicine and was the second ophthalmologist in the United States to perform remote retinopathy of prematurity screenings to prevent blindness in premature infants.
Dr. O'Neil has published clinical research in scientific medical journals and has developed patented vision assessment applications used throughout the world. In 2003, he co-founded the non-profit VisionQuest 20/20, which has facilitated vision screenings for over two million schoolchildren using computerized software he designed. His volunteer activities include serving on the national A.A.P.O.S. vision screening community and the Eyes on Learning medical advisory board.
