Dr. James Sutton

Dr. James D. Sutton is an ophthalmologist and founder of Mississippi Eye Associates in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. With over 30,000 cataract and lens implant surgeries performed, he is a highly experienced surgeon on the Gulf Coast. He specializes in advanced cataract surgery and lens implantation, and has been a clinical investigator for the RX Sight Light Adjustable Lens, the first surgeon in the region to implant it. He has also participated in multiple FDA phase 3 clinical trials for new ophthalmic medicines.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1985, Dr. Sutton completed an internal medicine internship at Ochsner Foundation in New Orleans and an ophthalmology residency at LSU Eye Center and Charity Hospital. He then studied advanced cataract techniques in Florida before returning to open his practice in 1990. In addition to cataract and implant surgery, Dr. Sutton and his colleagues at Mississippi Eye Associates treat a wide range of eye conditions, including retinal disorders, corneal disease, glaucoma, and oculoplastics, as well as provide refractive surgery.
