About Me
Dr. Jacob Koczman is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in refractive cataract surgery. He is skilled in the latest multifocal and astigmatism lens options and laser-assisted cataract surgery, providing patients with advanced vision correction solutions.
Dr. Koczman excelled academically and athletically at Northwestern College, graduating with honors as a double major in chemistry and biology. He was a two-time national champion in track and field, an academic All-American in basketball, and has been inducted into the college's Athletic Hall of Fame. His athletic prowess extended to the 2004 USA Track and Field Olympic Trials, where he competed as a finalist.
He completed his medical education at the University of Iowa, followed by an internship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and a residency at the Indiana University Department of Ophthalmology, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Koczman further specialized through two years of training in refractive and cataract surgery in North Carolina. He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and he enjoys an active lifestyle with running, cycling, and hiking.
