About Me
Dr. Ilya “Eli” Sluch, M.D. is a fellowship-trained cataract and cornea specialist and a board-certified ophthalmologist. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, which recognizes his surgical expertise and commitment to high standards in eye care. Growing up in Oklahoma, Dr. Sluch developed a personal understanding of vision importance after his father lost an eye in an accident and his grandfather suffered from glaucoma, driving his dedication to patient-centered care.
Dr. Sluch completed his undergraduate education at Oklahoma State University and earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for academic excellence. His postgraduate training included a general surgery internship in St. Louis, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Dean McGee Eye Institute. To specialize further, he completed a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Since 2018, Dr. Sluch has been practicing in the Central Florida area, focusing on advanced cataract surgery, corneal disease treatment, and refractive procedures. His extensive training and personal experience make him a compassionate and skilled provider for patients with eye conditions. Outside of his practice, he enjoys disk golf, tennis, hiking, and spending time with his wife and daughters, which adds to his well-rounded approach to life and medicine.
