About Me
Dr. Howard Weiss is a highly skilled cataract and glaucoma surgeon. His colleagues frequently consult him for his expertise in surgery and laser treatment, and more than half of his patients are referred by other physicians. He specializes in all aspects of cataract surgery, including astigmatic and multifocal lens implants, and performs both traditional and laser-assisted cataract surgery. He has been recognized as a seven-time Washingtonian Magazine Top Doc.
Dr. Weiss's practice encompasses general ophthalmology, with a particular focus on glaucoma and cataract care. He has taught at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Georgetown University, and the Washington Hospital Center, and has been involved in research studies sponsored by the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Weiss served as President and Managing Partner at Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons from 2008 to 2019 and as Medical Director at The Eye Surgery Center in Silver Spring, Maryland from 2007 to 2014. He has contributed 20 publications to peer-reviewed literature and has delivered 80 lectures at academic institutions.
