About Me
Dr. Howard Distelman is an ophthalmologist who joined Middlesex Eye Physicians in September 2024, practicing at the Guilford office. With over 25 years of experience in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery on the Connecticut Shoreline, he specializes in cataract surgery. Dr. Distelman utilizes advanced technology lens implants to correct astigmatism and multifocal intraocular lenses, which can reduce or eliminate the need for glasses after cataract surgery.
He completed his undergraduate degree in biophysics at Columbia University and received his medical degree and ophthalmology training at Downstate Medical Center in New York City. Following his residency, Dr. Distelman pursued fellowship training with renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Seymour Dubroff, where he perfected small incision cataract surgery techniques.
