About Me
Dr. Hamzah Khalaf is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retinal surgeon with expertise in medical and surgical diseases of the retina. He moved to Texas in 2016 to further his advanced training and is committed to delivering compassionate, cutting-edge care while building lasting connections with his patients.
Dr. Khalaf completed his ophthalmology residency at SUMMA Health System, where he served as Chief Resident, and advanced his expertise with a fellowship in medical and surgical retina at the Valley Retina Institute. His dedication to research was recognized with the James S. Tan, MD Award for Basic Science Research. He has also served as an Assistant Professor at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, training ophthalmology residents and retina fellows.
Fluent in English, Arabic, and Spanish, Dr. Khalaf is committed to serving a diverse patient population. He is actively involved in community service and has presented his research at national and international conferences, advocating for patients and advancing the field of retina care.
