About Me
Dr. Gregory J. Katz is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Huron Ophthalmology, serving patients in Ann Arbor. He specializes in cataract surgery and the treatment of glaucoma, offering comprehensive care for these common eye conditions. With over two decades of experience since joining Huron Ophthalmology in 1994, Dr. Katz stays at the forefront of his field through involvement in multiple clinical drug and surgical trials aimed at advancing glaucoma treatment. He has lectured extensively at local, state, national, and international meetings, sharing his expertise with the medical community.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Katz has participated in numerous mission trips to West Africa and India, where he has performed hundreds of cataract and glaucoma surgeries for underserved populations. He also serves as a consultant to the State of Michigan's Bureau of Health Professions, Medical Director of Utilization Management for BCBS of Michigan, and on the FDA's division of Ophthalmic Devices. Dr. Katz is a Committee Chair for the American Board of Ophthalmology's Examination Development Committee, which writes the questions for the Ophthalmology Board Examination.
