About Me
Dr. Gregory B. Mecoli is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical eye care, with a particular focus on cataract surgery. He joined the Cincinnati Eye Institute in 2014 and has since provided sight-restoring care to hundreds of patients annually. Dr. Mecoli is dedicated to helping his patients fully understand their eye conditions and the treatment options available to them.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Mecoli graduated magna cum laude from Denison University with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship at The Christ Hospital and returned to the University of Cincinnati for his ophthalmology residency, where he served as chief resident in his final year.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Mecoli serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati, where he teaches cataract surgery to ophthalmology residents. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing bluegrass music and hiking with his family.
