Dr. Grayson Armstrong

Dr. Jose R. Davila is a vitreoretinal surgeon who manages both medical and surgical diseases of the retina, including retinal detachment, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular occlusions. His research interests span global ophthalmology, tele-retinal imaging, and surgical education.

Dr. Ilya Leskov is a board-certified, fellowship-trained specialist in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. He diagnoses and treats conditions affecting the retina, macula, and vitreous, combining careful in-office evaluation with advanced medical and surgical retina care when needed. Patients see him for problems such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusions, uveitis, macular holes, and retinal tears or detachments. Dr. Leskov also has a special interest in managing complications from cataract surgery, including displaced intraocular lenses. He completed a combined MD-PhD program at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by ophthalmology residency training at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Northwestern University. He is fluent in Russian and French and sees patients in SUNY Downstate faculty practices in Brooklyn.

Dr. Rebecca Russ Soares is a vitreoretinal surgeon who treats the full spectrum of retinal disease with an emphasis on compassionate, state-of-the-art care. She graduated summa cum laude from Yale University, earned an MD and MPH from Emory University School of Medicine, completed an internal medicine internship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and trained in ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital. She then completed a vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital/Mid Atlantic Retina. Her clinical interests include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular hole and pucker, retinal detachment, retinal vascular occlusions, uveitis, and complications of cataract surgery. Dr. Soares offers advanced treatments such as anti-VEGF therapy, laser, and small-incision vitrectomy. She is active in research and public health initiatives and strives to combine technical excellence with clear communication and supportive follow-up.
