Dr. Gokul Kumar

Dr. Gokul Kumar is a retinal surgeon at Central Florida Retina, providing expert care for patients with retinal conditions across Orlando and surrounding areas. He specializes in treating diabetic retinopathy and other retinal diseases.

Dr. Kumar earned his B.S. in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University and completed his M.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Illinois in Chicago. He trained in ophthalmology at Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as Chief Resident and clinical instructor. He further honed his skills through a surgical retina fellowship at Emory University, a program consistently ranked among the top in the nation.

Recognized for his clinical and surgical excellence, he was selected by faculty at Washington University as the best clinical and surgical ophthalmology resident. Dr. Kumar focuses on conditions such as macular degeneration, retinal tears, and vascular diseases, offering advanced treatments to preserve and restore vision.
