About Me
Dr. Felipe De Alba is a professor and the director of the Retina Service in the Department of Ophthalmology at Loyola University Chicago. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration, central serous chorioretinopathy, retinal detachments, and other vitreoretinal disorders. His clinical expertise also encompasses choroidal and orbital lesions, retinal artery occlusion, and the retinal effects of systemic diseases and medications.
Dr. De Alba earned his medical degree from the University of Autonoma de Coahuila in Mexico. He completed an internship at Ball Memorial Hospital, an ophthalmology residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research focuses on atypical retinal presentations of systemic diseases and side effects of systemic medications, with published studies on age-related macular degeneration and retinal detachments.
