About Me
Dr. Erin Lanzo is a fellowship-trained neuro-ophthalmologist at NYU Langone Eye Center who cares for adults with vision problems related to the brain, optic nerve, and eye movement pathways. She evaluates conditions such as double vision, optic neuritis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and unexplained visual field loss, using advanced imaging and diagnostic testing to clarify the cause of symptoms and guide treatment.
Dr. Lanzo completed medical school at the University of Maryland, followed by ophthalmology residency at Tufts Medical Center and a dedicated neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at Weill Cornell. This training allows her to integrate detailed eye examinations with a deep understanding of neurologic disease, and to collaborate closely with neurology, neurosurgery, rheumatology, and primary care.
Before entering medicine, Dr. Lanzo taught high school English, an experience that continues to shape her practice. She prioritizes clear, compassionate communication, taking time to explain findings, review test results, and answer questions so that each patient leaves with a better understanding of their condition and next steps.
