About Me
Dr. Eric S. Friedman is a retina specialist and vitreoretinal surgeon at NJRetina. He provides care for patients with conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis, and vitreous hemorrhage. Dr. Friedman performs a range of procedures including vitrectomy, laser photocoagulation, intraocular injections, pneumatic retinopexy, and scleral buckling surgery. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and serves on the medical staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Dr. Friedman has participated as a principal investigator in national studies on age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. Friedman earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from Brown University School of Medicine through the Brown/Dartmouth Program. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School. He has presented his research at national meetings.
