About Me
Dr. Ellen Koo is a corneal specialist who focuses on conditions affecting the cornea and the front of the eye. Her clinical expertise includes corneal transplant surgery, cataract surgery, and laser vision correction procedures. She is actively involved in research and leads clinical trials for corneal edema and Fuchs dystrophy.
Dr. Koo is dedicated to advancing the fields of corneal transplantation and eye banking. She has pioneered improvements in surgical techniques for DMEK and DSEK transplants and teaches these procedures at national skills training labs. She holds leadership roles in professional organizations, including serving as president of the Fuchs Symposium and on committees for the Eye Bank Association of America and KeraLink International.
In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Koo is involved in training the next generation of eye surgeons as the associate director of the Bascom Palmer Palm Beach Cornea Fellowship program. She has been recognized with multiple peer-nominated Top Doctor awards for her patient care and expertise.
