Meet Dr. Edward Washington
About Me
Edward T. Washington, MD, is an ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the Kentucky Lions Eye Center, University of Louisville. His clinical and research work is dedicated to advancing glaucoma care and understanding patient outcomes.
Dr. Washington completed his ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University and a glaucoma fellowship at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans. His research focuses on the long-term outcomes of glaucoma surgery, particularly for neovascular glaucoma, and investigates risk factors for surgical success, including medical and social determinants such as economic status and medical accessibility.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery.
