Dr. Edward Kuwera

Dr. Edward Kuwera is an ophthalmologist at the Wilmer Eye Institute who specializes in pediatric eye conditions and adult strabismus, seeing patients in Belcamp and Baltimore, Maryland. He focuses on diagnosing and treating complex strabismus, including reoperations, torsional misalignments, and strabismus related to thyroid eye disease. He is among the few surgeons who perform adjustable strabismus surgery for both adults and children on the same day, and he also has a special interest in nystagmus, amblyopia, and cortical visual impairment.

Dr. Kuwera completed ophthalmology residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center (2017) after earning his M.D. from Ross University School of Medicine (2013). He is active in medical and patient education and is involved in projects that include VR/AR devices for diagnosing and treating visual disorders and other tools that support training and learning.
