About Me
Doris F. Canes Napoles, MD, is a pediatric ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care for children, and she also evaluates adults with nystagmus and strabismus. She began practicing medicine in 2005 and joined Akron Children’s Hospital in 2022. Dr. Canes Napoles is fluent in Spanish and English and is an active member of national ophthalmology societies dedicated to children’s vision and strabismus care.
Her training includes medical school at Universidad de Ciencias de Las Tunas in Cuba, ophthalmology residency at the Cuban Institute of Ophthalmology (Ramon Pando Ferrer) in Havana, and a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Akron Children’s. She focuses on careful diagnosis, family-centered education and age-appropriate treatment plans that support visual development.
