About Me
Dr. Donald S. Fong is a vitreo-retinal surgeon at Kaiser Permanente, specializing in conditions affecting the vitreous and retina. He has been practicing ophthalmology for over 25 years, performing eye surgery to treat a range of retinal diseases.
Dr. Fong was raised in South Pasadena and was a Kaiser Permanente member himself as a child. After completing medical school in Texas, he pursued specialty training at Harvard and the National Institutes of Health. He then returned to Southern California to join Kaiser Permanente.
His approach to care emphasizes quality and a personal touch, treating patients as partners to ensure they receive the professional care they need. Dr. Fong is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Retina Society, and the Macula Society, and he has co-authored three books.
