About Me

Dr. Dean Cestari is a clinician-scientist specializing in neuro-ophthalmology at Mass. Eye and Ear, where he treats patients with neuro-ophthalmic disorders, strabismus (crossed eyes), and diplopia (double vision). He serves as Co-Director of the Center for Thyroid Eye Disease and Orbital Surgery, providing comprehensive care for conditions affecting the optic nerve, thyroid eye disease, and adult strabismus.

Dr. Cestari earned his medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine and completed his residency in ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College, where he served as Chief Resident. He is one of the few ophthalmologists board-certified in both neurology and ophthalmology, bringing a unique depth of expertise to his patients.

In addition to clinical care, Dr. Cestari is actively involved in research to understand and treat optic nerve disease, including ischemic optic neuropathy. His approach combines advanced medical treatment with cutting-edge research to preserve and restore vision.
