About Me
Daniela M. Whiteside, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical retina and general ophthalmology at Charlotte Ophthalmology Center for Sight. She offers comprehensive eye care, including services for treating diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, macular degeneration, retinal tears, and general eye diseases.
Dr. Whiteside received her Doctorate Degree in Medicine from the University of Lübeck in Germany. She completed her ophthalmology residency and internship at The University of South Carolina, following initial residency training at the Retinal Center at Phillips University in Marburg, Germany. She further advanced her expertise through a two-year retinal research fellowship at the USC Microbiology/Immunology Department.
With a strong academic background, Dr. Whiteside served as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Carolina, teaching residents. She continues her dedication to education as a staff physician at the Dorn VA Medical Center, where she teaches ophthalmology residents part-time. Known for providing personal and precise care, she is committed to patient-centered eye health.
