About Me

Dr. Daniel Lee is a board-certified ophthalmologist recognized as one of Portland’s Top Doctors in 2026 by Portland Monthly Magazine. He is a cataract surgeon, fellowship-trained cornea specialist, and comprehensive ophthalmologist who provides a wide range of eye care services. His practice includes routine and complex cataract surgery, corneal transplantation procedures such as PKP, DALK, DSEK, and DMEK, laser vision correction including LASIK and PRK, pterygium excision, and management of dislocating intraocular lenses. He also offers advanced lens options like toric, multifocal, and light adjustable lenses for cataract surgery candidates.

Dr. Lee discovered his passion for ophthalmology while working as an ophthalmic technician during college, which led him to pursue medical school specifically to become an ophthalmologist. He completed his medical school training in Wisconsin, followed by an internship in Chicago where he assisted with ICU patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. He then moved to Portland for his residency training at OHSU and stayed to complete a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the same institution.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Lee volunteers on the Patient Care Committee of the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation and donates his skills to provide free cataract surgery to underserved patients in the Portland area. He lives in Portland with his wife, two dogs, and two cats, and in his free time enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking, and international travel.
