Dr. Amy Tong

Dr. Amy Y. Tong is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, cataract surgery, and refractive procedures. She was named one of Portland’s Top Doctors in 2021 by Portland Monthly Magazine, reflecting her dedication to excellence in eye care. As a cornea specialist, her clinical interests include managing diseases of the cornea, performing corneal transplant surgery, and addressing complex cataract cases. She also provides comprehensive ophthalmology for patients with a wide range of eye conditions.

Dr. Tong deeply values building relationships with her patients and believes in working collaboratively as a team to enhance their vision and overall eye health. Her passion for ophthalmology was inspired by her grandmother, a professor of ophthalmology in China who continues to see patients weekly even in her eighties.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Tong is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society. She has published multiple articles and presented at national and international meetings. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, salsa dancing, and spending time with her husband and their cat, Oliver.
