Dr. Daniel Apple

Dr. Daniel Apple is a vitreoretinal surgeon who cares for patients with medical and surgical diseases of the retina and macula. He offers evidence-based therapies—including office-based injections and laser—as well as advanced microsurgical repair, with an emphasis on clear communication and steady follow-up. His goal is to make complex topics understandable so patients and families feel prepared at every step of care.

A Michigan native, Dr. Apple earned his bachelor’s degree at Bob Jones University and completed his medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Following an internal medicine internship at Greenville Memorial Hospital, he completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota. He then pursued a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Kresge Eye Institute/Wayne State University, gaining extensive experience in both common and complex retinal conditions.
