About Me
Dr. Daniel B. Drysdale is an ophthalmologist who has dedicated over four decades to serving the Blacksburg, Virginia community. He graduated from Princeton University and Duke Medical School, then completed his internship and residency training at the University of Michigan. Dr. Drysdale has held teaching roles at the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia, and currently serves as a preceptor at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His clinical interests include advanced technology cataract surgery, lens implantation, instrument design, and outreach to underserved populations.
Dr. Drysdale retired from full-time practice in September 2024, but continues to provide refraction and eye exams by appointment. Throughout his career, he has been active in professional organizations, serving as President of the Southwestern Virginia Medical Society and receiving a special recognition award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
