About Me
Dr. Wade Joiner is an associate professor and glaucoma specialist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He is a member of the UAB Glaucoma Service and focuses on the treatment of complex glaucoma cases. Dr. Joiner is dedicated to educating the next generation of eye care providers, regularly teaching residents and fellows in addition to his clinical practice.
With over 20 years of experience managing glaucoma in the Birmingham area, Dr. Joiner brings extensive expertise to his role at UAB. He is an active member of both the Alabama and American academies of ophthalmology, staying current with the latest advancements in glaucoma care.
Dr. Joiner completed his medical education at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and his ophthalmology residency at UAB. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in glaucoma at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
