About Me
Dr. Craig J. Brown is a board-certified ophthalmologist with over 40 years of experience serving his hometown of Fayetteville. His mission is to help people have hope again. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and served as a medical missionary in Ghana before completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri. Dr. Brown returned home to open his private practice in 1981, bringing a wealth of experience and a compassionate approach to eye care.
Dr. Brown is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Royal Society of Medicine in London. He serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, teaching medical students and residents. With over 9,000 cataract operations and thousands of ophthalmic laser procedures performed, he offers extensive surgical expertise.
He currently serves in a consulting capacity for patients with nutritional, neuro-ophthalmological, and microvascular diseases. Dr. Brown has developed effective treatment and prevention protocols for macular degeneration, dry eyes, ocular surface disease, cataracts, migraine, optic nerve disease, and early diabetic retinopathy. He collaborates with global researchers on retinal microvascular disease and holds patents for treatments of ischemic vascular eye diseases and migraine.
