About Me
Dr. Christine Nelson is an ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at the Kellogg Eye Center, part of University of Michigan Health. She holds the title of Professor and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. With extensive training in neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery, she provides expert care for a wide range of conditions affecting the eyelids, orbit, and tear ducts.
Dr. Nelson evaluates and treats both pediatric and adult patients with eyelid disorders such as ptosis, trauma, tumors, malposition, blepharospasm, and eyelash abnormalities. She also manages orbital diseases including tumors, fractures, and thyroid eye disease (Graves eye disease), as well as lacrimal (tear duct) disorders. Her surgical expertise includes procedures like dacryocystorhinostomy, placement of Jones tubes, enucleation, and evisceration.
