About Me
Christina McGowan, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who serves as Co-Director and Medical Director of the Cataract and Primary Eye Care Service at Wills Eye Hospital. In this leadership role, she oversees the delivery of high-quality care for cataracts and general eye health. She is also an Assistant Professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, where she actively participates in resident education, helping to train future ophthalmologists.
Dr. McGowan completed her medical degree at Sidney Kimmel Medical College and furthered her training with a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in cornea at the University of Florida. This extensive education enables her to provide comprehensive eye care, specializing in cataract surgery, primary eye care, and corneal conditions. Her expertise is recognized through awards such as the Castle Connolly "Top Doctor" designation and inclusion in Philadelphia magazine's "Top Doctors" list.
