About Me
Dr. Betul N. Bayraktutar is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with advanced expertise in pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus, and corneal and anterior segment disorders. At Wills Eye Hospital, she cares for children and adults with conditions ranging from amblyopia and strabismus to complex corneal disease that may require transplantation. Patients value her careful explanations and calm, family-centered approach to planning care.
Dr. Bayraktutar completed clinical fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Wills Eye Hospital and at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, as well as a Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery fellowship at the University of Florida. She also completed a clinical cornea research fellowship at the New England Eye Center (Tufts). Internationally trained and FEBO-certified, she has authored peer-reviewed publications, contributed to book chapters, and reviews for leading journals. Her interests include ocular surface disease, corneal imaging, and surgical innovation. She provides evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s goals and welcomes patients of all ages.
