About Me
Dr. Kai Chu was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and grew up in Houston, Texas, where she attended Jersey Village High School. She graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies. She then attended Baylor College of Medicine, where she received her medical degree.
Dr. Chu completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch and a fellowship in glaucoma at the Columbia University Harkness Eye Institute in New York. She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Glaucoma Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Texas Ophthalmologic Association, and the Harris County Medical Society. Dr. Chu is excited to be practicing in her hometown at Houston Eye Associates, where she specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, cataracts, and glaucoma.
In her spare time, Dr. Chu enjoys spending time and traveling with her husband and family. She stays active by playing tennis, practicing yoga, snowboarding, and scuba diving. Dr. Chu is fluent in both English and Mandarin and is currently accepting new patients.
